I am a sociologist specializing in immigration in the Americas, with extensive experience in researching migratory channels, regularization pathways, integration policies, high-skilled immigration, immigrants’ socioeconomic integration, and the impact of immigration on economic development. My work includes conducting qualitative research and producing policy briefs on immigration across diverse contexts, including the United States, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, and Mexico. In addition to my primary focus on immigration, I have substantial expertise in the Welfare State, redistribution, and child poverty. My quantitative research on redistribution and child poverty in six middle-income countries utilized the Luxembourg Income Study Database, the world’s largest available income database of harmonized microdata.
I hold a PhD and MPhil in Sociology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, an MA in Sociology from the University of Maryland, CP, and a BA in Sociology (with honors) from the University of Buenos Aires. My research has been widely published in academic outlets such as Ethnic and Racial Studies, International Migration, International Labor and Working Class History, Revista Sociedad, the University of Buenos Aires Press, Ciepp-Miño y Dávila Press, and Prometeo Press. With over 15 years of teaching experience, I currently teach 'Contemporary Global Challenges: Poverty, Inequality, and Immigration' in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires. My academic career includes faculty appointments at the City University of New York and the University of Wisconsin, along with visiting positions at Fordham University and Lehigh University.
